Cebu, DLSU grads top nursing board exams

MANILA - A graduate of a Cebu university and a graduate of De La Salle University topped the June 2016 Nursing Licensure Examination given by the Board of Nursing, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Bernard John Ezra IV Rafols Icamen from the Cebu Normal University and Melissa Castor Malong of the De La Salle University-Health Sciences Institute share the top spot with 87.20 percent.
Three graduates also share the second place with 86.60 percent. They are Rachelle Eve Alolor Bensig of Xavier University; Joszabelle Cano Estrella of Bicol University-Legazpi; and Gianna Kalilah Tolentino Roman of the Bataan Peninsula State University-Balanga.
Paul Lexus Gomez Lorenzo of the University of the Assumption is at the third spot with 86.40 percent.

The PRC announced on Friday that 6,183 out of the 14,184 passed the nursing licensure examination in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga this month.
The results of the examination with respect to two (2) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.
The members of the Board of Nursing who gave the licensure examination are Marian Grace A. Gascon, Chairman; Gloria B. Arcos, Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Carfredda P. Dumlao, Glenda S. Arquiza, Florence C. Cawaon and Cora A. Anonuevo, Members.
Pursuant to Section 16, of Republic Act No. 9173, “all successful candidates in the examination shall be required to take an oath of professional before the Board or any government official authorized to administer oaths prior to entering upon the nursing practice”.
Schedule of on-line registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be announced later. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag) and 2 sets of documentary stamps. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
