I have makeup brushes to use for different purposes but I end up still using my ring finger in applying including the foundation whether in liquid or cream and eye shadow. I use my brushes only for blush on and powder for finishing touches. I need to teach myself to use the makeup brushes that is why I purchased recently a new set and still not using since I rarely use makeup.
Also recently, I FORCED MYSELF to apply sunscreen daily on my face/ skin because of my age is catching up with me he he.. I should have listen to the skin experts early on to use/apply sunscreen even if you will stay at home or outdoor activities since sunscreen is a  protection to the skin against the harmful heat from the sun and not only for outdoor sports and swimming.

What Is L Methionine? L Methionine Benefits & Top Food Sources

You know all about protein foods, but did you know there’s something in most of them that can fight disease, build bones and support the liver? First discovered by American bacteriologist John Howard Mueller in 1921, methionine, or methionine, is an essential amino acid found in the body used to make proteins and peptides. It’s found in meat, fish and dairy products, as well as nuts and grains. Think protein foods, and you will likely find methionine. 
Methionine provides an important role relating to the growth of new blood vessels. (1While the body produces it on its own, supplementing with L methionine has been shown to help heal wounds and those experiencing Parkinson’s, drug withdrawal, schizophrenia, radiation, copper poisoning, asthma, allergies, alcoholism, liver damage and depression.
While those are all good things, it’s not uncommon to have too much methionine in the standard American diet, but let’s understand how it works. The human body uses L methionine to make creatine, another type of amino acid. Additionally, L methionine contains sulfur, which is used by the body for healthy growth and metabolism, and it’s responsible for a compound known as s-adenosylmethionine or “SAMe,” which supports the the proper function of the immune system; neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and melatonin; and cell membranes. So what does all this mean? It means L methionine benefits the body in many ways, but it’s also important to not overdo it since the body produces it on its own and to obtain it from the proper sources. So let’s examine the benefits of L methionine and the best L methionine foods.

Benefits of L Methionine

1. May Help Reduce Risk of Colorectal Cancer

According to the Melbourne Colorectal Cancer Study, conducted in Melbourne, Australia, methionine, along with B vitamins and other minerals, may help reduce the risk of colorectal cancer. The study observed foods that were eaten as well as micronutrients, such as folate, methionine, and vitamins B6 and B12, and those with antioxidant properties like selenium, vitamins E and C, and lycopene. Though the tests studied many of these vitamins, minerals and amino acids individually, overall, the data supports the conclusion that a diet containing all of these micronutrients, including methionine, may help lower colorectal cancer risks. 2. Can Lower Tremors in Parkinson’s Patients

A study was conducted on 11 patients who had untreated Parkinson’s disease. Participants were treated with L methionine for periods from two weeks to six months and showed improvement in akinesia and rigidity, resulting in fewer tremors than usual. (4) This shows methionine may be beneficial in treating Parkinson’s symptoms.
Additionally, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research indicates that further studies are being conducted regarding the evidence that a part of the antioxidant enzyme system, specifically methionine, may play a critical role in prevention of aging related to oxidative damage and loss of dopamine, ultimately providing a potential treatment for Parkinson’s disease. 3. Builds Bone Strength

Methionine may help athletic performance (and even weight loss) due to its effects on bones. To better understand how methionine and endurance exercise affects the body, researchers at the Institute of Physical Education, Health and Leisure Studies at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan gave rats different diets, some with l methionine foods and others without. After an eight-week period, exercise-trained subjects had a 9.2 percent lower body weight, which is no surprise given exercise can help anyone lose weight. However, part of what became evident was that there is an effect on bone volume, bone mineralization and bone mineral content compared to those subjects who were fed the diets without methionine supplementation.
Results indicate that the methionine combined with endurance exercise caused lower whole bone mass, size and/or strength, but it enhanced natural bone strength overall. This may be why there are claims that it can help athletic performance. (6)

 4. Aids Weight Loss

Creatine is a substance that comes from methionine and creatine can not only help improve athletic performance, but also the body’s ratio of muscle to fat.
More research is needed in this area, but one study of 14 high-performancemale adult judo athletes evaluated the contribution of their energy systems using oxygen uptake and blood lactate measurements. The results showed an increase in performance, which is thought to be due to the creatine effects during intervals and could be because of the loss in weight resulting in a better muscle to fat ratio. 5. Could Help Those Dealing with Drug Withdrawal

The Journal of Neuroscience conducted a study on rats who were induced with cocaine and how methionine can make a difference in the addictive qualities of the drug. When subjects were given methionine, it blocked the effects of the cocaine, making it less addictive than without the methionine. (9) While more research is needed, this may indicate L methionine can help those dealing with withdrawal by slowly lowering the effects and helping people kick the addiction — or even help prevent addiction in the first place.

6. May Support the Liver

The American Society of Nutrition reports that evidence indicates methionine metabolism may affect alcoholic liver disease. Liver disease is more prominent in areas of the world where there’s a problem with malnutrition, but it’s also a problem everywhere when it comes to alcohol abuse. However, research points to the ability for methionine, specifically SAMe, combined with folate and vitamins B6 and B12, to possibly help treat the effects of liver disease. (10)

While you can purchase supplements, it’s likely that you’re getting all the methionine you need through your food — which is always the best way to obtain nutrition when possible. There’s a long list of foods that have methionine, with the highest levels coming from meat and fish sources, but here are a few to give you a sense of the variety of foods that contain it, based on levels of 200-calorie serving): (11)

According to the World Health organization, adults need about 13 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day of methionine, and it’s best to make sure you don’t overdo it since it could cause health problems if too much is consumed on a regular basis. How to Use L Methionine

This topic is still being investigated, but an interesting study was reported in Science News evaluating the effects on methionine as it relates to calorie restriction. Some researchers believe that it’s possible to have a longer life by cutting calories while enhancing nutrient density to include the consumption of methionine. Others think too much methionine can cause health problems. (13)
So the question is: How much methionine do we need? It depends on a lot of other things, such as how much other amino acids you may be getting. According to the World Health Organization, here are some average daily needs: (1415)
  • Preschool children ages 2–5 need 27 mg/kg/day
  • School children ages 10–12 need 22 mg/kg/day
  • Adults 18+ need 13 mg/kg/day

History of Methionine

American bacteriologist, and researcher at Columbia University in New York, John Howard Mueller discovered methionine in 1921. According to his biographical memoir from the National Academy of Sciences: (16)

“He [Mueller] soon found that although he could use an acid hydrolysate of animal protein supplemented with tryptophane- instead of commercial ‘peptones’ — as a base for growth of Streptococcus hemolyticus, the hydrolysate could not be replaced by a mixture of the then known amino acids. This led to the fractionation of casein hydrolysate and to the discovery of a new, ubiquitously distributed sulfur-containing amino acid: methionine.”
Mueller shared this discovery in a paper he wrote in the Journal of Biological Chemistry in 1923.
However, apparently this formula was a little off the mark and was corrected about three years later by his colleague, Odake, in Japan, who named it methionine. It was six years later when G. Barger and F. P. Coyne gave final definition to the structure of methionine.
Further review led Germany to the hope of treating nutritional edema, protein deficiency, which was a chronic issue of many soldiers returning from war. It has been stated that the first true “synthesis of D,L-methionine at Degussa was achieved by Werner Schwarze, Hans Wagner and Hermann Schulz in 1946/47.” (17)

Potential Side Effects or Cautions
As stated previously, we are able to obtain methionine from our food, and I always recommend that as a first option. Too much may cause health problems, so unless you know that you’re deficient in methionine, there’s no reason to take supplements. However, if you choose methionine, creatine or SAMe supplements for any health purpose, it’s best to speak to your physician first.
Another note: Some studies have suggested that a low-methionine diet may help starve cancer cells. Ultimately, this may mean what I have already suggested — don’t over do it. By including more fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, you can obtain healthy amounts that also allow for maximum phytonutrient intake. (18)

1. Are You Plugged In?

It sounds silly, but you need to make sure the laptop is actually plugged in. No software tweak or hardware repair can make a disconnected laptop magically power on. So before you do anything else, ensure that the AC outlet and laptop plugs are firmly seated.
Check the AC adapter brick and verify that any removable cords are fully inserted. Next, make sure that the battery is properly seated in its compartment, and that there is nothing wrong with either the battery or laptop contact points. Finally, find out whether the problem doesn't lie with the laptop at all: Try plugging the power cord into a different outlet to see if you've got a short or a blown fuse.
At this point, we've determined that it's not just user error causing the problem. There is a real issue with powering the laptop; now it's simply a matter of figuring out where the problem may be. That begins with eliminating where it isn't. We'll start with the most common and easy-to-address issues.

2. Lose the Battery

A simple way to check the integrity of the battery is to remove it entirely and try plugging in the laptop. If the laptop powers on properly, the problem is likely a bum battery.

3. Make Sure You're Using the Right USB-C Port

USB-C is a popular cross-platform standard for charging, peripherals, and data transfer. The new standard allows for thinner devices, but might also cause some confusion. Some manufacturers have opted to make USB-C ports data-only (therefore these ports won't allow you to charge your device).
For example, the new Huawei MateBook X has two USB-C ports: One that could be used for charging or data transfer, and one that is only designated for data transfer or connecting to a dock. If you run into a non-charging issue, make sure you are connected to the correct USB-C port.

4. Breaks, Burnout, and Shorts

Feel along the length of the power cord, bending and flexing as you go, to check for any kinks or breaks. Check the ends for any broken connections, such as plugs pulling loose or spots that may have gotten chewed by a pet or caught in a vacuum cleaner. Inspect the AC brick. Is it discolored? Are any parts warped or expanded? Give it a sniff—if it smells like burnt plastic, that's likely where the trouble lies.

5. Check the Connector

When you plug in the laptop's power connector, the connection should be fairly solid. If it's suddenly wobbly or loose, or if the receiving socket gives when it should stay firm, the power jack may have broken inside the chassis. Are there discolorations or any sort of burning smell? If there seems to be any damage to the power connector, repairs will be in order.

A non-charging battery can sometimes be caused by an overheating laptop. This problem is two-fold; with the system shutting down to prevent overheating a battery and causing a fire. Also, as the temperature rises, the battery sensor may misfire, telling the system that the battery is either fully charged or missing completely, causing the charging problems.
These problems become far more likely when dealing with older laptops, which don't have the quality of cooling technology used today, or when using the laptop on the couch or in bed, with a blanket or pillow covering the cooling vents. Let the system tcool down and take the time to make sure that the air vents are clean and unobstructed.

7. Swap Out the Cord and Battery

These are the cheapest and easiest-to-swap parts on the laptop. A replacement power cable can often be had for under $10 on Amazon, and replacement batteries can be picked up for under $100.
Replacement cables are most easily found by searching under the model name of the laptop, while batteries often have their own model numbers. Look for a replacement that matches the voltage specifications of the equipment your laptop came with, and be aware that cheap replacement parts from third-party manufacturers may not have the quality of the originals.
At this point, we've eliminated the problems caused by kinked cords or environmental causes. If you still find yourself powerless, the problem lies within the computer itself, caused by either a software issue or faulty hardware. Let's start by looking at the settings and software.

8. Check Your Settings

For Windows Laptops: In the Control Panel, open up the Power Options. Open the plan settings and visually check that all are properly set. Be on the lookout for incorrect settings for the battery, display, and sleep options. For example, your battery settings may cause trouble if you set the computer to shut down when the battery level drops too low or set the low battery level at too high a percentage.

You can also assign actions like sleep and shut down when your lid is closed or the power button is pressed. If these settings have been changed, it's easy to suspect a power malfunction even though there's no physical problem with the battery or charging cable. The easiest way to make sure that your settings aren't causing problems is to restore the power profile to default settings.
For Mac Laptops: In System Preferences, select the Energy Saver pane and review your preferences. Mac settings are adjusted with a slider, letting you select the amount of time the computer can sit idle until it goes to sleep. If the interval is too short, you might suspect battery issues when settings are the true culprit. And don't forget to check these settings for both battery power and wall power.You may want to revert back to the default settings to see if a change in settings is causing the problem.

9. Update Your Drivers

For Windows Laptops: Open the Device Manager. Under "Batteries" you should see three items, one for the battery, another for the charger, and a third listed as "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery". Open each item, which will bring up a Properties window. Under the "Driver" tab, you'll see a button labeled "Update Driver." Go through the driver update process for all three. Once the drivers are all up to date, reboot the laptop and plug it in again. If this doesn't resolve the problem, uninstall "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" completely and reboot.

For Mac Laptops: On a Mac you'll need to try resetting the System Management Controller (SMC). For laptops with removable batteries this is as simple as shutting down power, removing the battery, disconnecting power, and pressing the power button for 5 seconds. Reinsert the battery, connect power, and fire up the laptop.
For newer Macs with batteries sealed into the chassis, shut down the computer, but leave the power adapter connected. With the power off, press and hold the power button while pressing the Shift-Control-Option keys on the left-hand side of the keyboard. Release the keys and power button simultaneously, then attempt to power on the laptop.

10. Call In Outside Assistance

If you haven't already, this is probably a good time to contact tech support. Your particular make and model of laptop will likely have its own unique issues, and a seasoned tech support operator will have seen all of them. He or she will likely walk you through many of the steps outlined above, but will also be aware of software and hardware issues specific to your configuration, such as what bits of hardware commonly fail.

11. Problems Inside

When all of your options are exhausted—you've tried other power cables and batteries, you've checked and rechecked your settings, you've fixed any potential software problems—the problem is likely found inside the machine. Several internal parts can cause problems when they malfunction or fail.
Common culprits include a faulty motherboard, wonky logic boards, damaged charging circuits, and malfunctioning battery sensors.
Like a sick person consulting a doctor, you need to see a specialist. Contact your manufacturer about what repair options are covered under your warranty, or call up a local computer repair shop.

What is Gonorrhoea (GC)?

Gonorrhoea is a disease of the epithelial lining of the urogenital tract, rectumpharynx and conjunctivae. Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It can be passed on by vaginal, oral or anal sexual intercourse.
Gonorrhoea usually causes a urethritis (inflammation of the tube carrying urine from the bladder) in men, but occasionally it may spread to the heart, joints and brain. In women, the most common site of infection is the cervix (the lower end of the uterus or womb) but it may ascend and cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) which also involves the uterus and fallopian tubes. Spread through the body can cause feverjoint pain and rash.

Statistics

Men
Gonorrhoea is a worldwide disease. There are an estimated 60,000 new cases of gonorrhoea in Australian males each year (1999 statistics). It is likely that many more cases are present, but these go undiagnosed or are not notified to the appropriate agencies.
Gonorrhoea is more common in males than females in Australia. Gonnorhoea is asymptomatic in approximately 10% of males. A large proportion of women have no symptoms, so men are often infected after having vaginal intercourse with an infected asymptomatic female. The risk of infection after sexual intercourse with an infected female is around 20% for men.

Women
Gonorrhoea is the second most common sexually transmitted disease in females (second to chlamydia). The majority of females are asymptomatic and can easily pass on the infection without knowing. After a single exposure to an infected man, women have a 50% risk of acquiring the infection.
There is a higher prevalence of gonorrhoea in large metropolitan areas, inner city areas, populations with lower overall levels of education and people with a lower socioeconomic status. A large proportion of Australian cases are amongst Aboriginal people or are aquired overseas. Gonorrhoea is most prevalent in people aged 15 to 29 years.

Children
As gonorrhoea is a sexually acquired disease it rarely affects children. However, newborns to an infected mother can develop a purulent conjunctivitis (ophthalmia neonatorum), which is an infection of the thin membrane lining the surface of the eye and eyelids. If poorly treated, the child may become blind.

Risk Factors

Risk factors include having multiple sexual partners, a partner with a past history of any STI and unprotected sex (sex without the use of a condom or female condom).

Progression

Humans are the only host of Neisseria gonorrhoea. It is spread by intimate physical contact.

How is it Diagnosed

N. gonnorrhoea can be identified by culture from an infected area on selective media. The doctor takes a swab from inside the tip of the penis for culture. Microscopy of secretion shows a specific shape of bacteria, which is intracellular, Gram-negative diplococci. Throat swabs can’t be used for diagnosis. If the infection has spread, the physician may take blood samples or samples from joint fluid.
If gonorrhoea is identified, all sexual partners also need to be investigated while maintaining confidentiality.

Prognosis

When gonorrhea is treated immediately the outcome is likely to be good. This means that no permanent scarring of the urethra will take place, and the infection will not spread to other areas of the body. When treatment is delayed there is a greater likelihood of complications.

Men
There may be spread of infection to the epididymus or testicles. Men with gonorrhoea are also at greater risk of acquiring other sexually transmitted infections, such as human immunodeficiency virus(HIV). In some patients the infection can spread throughout the body causing arthritis (pain and swelling in joints), rashfever and malaise.  

Women
There may be spread of infection from the cervix to the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. If left untreated, infertility may occur.

Treatment

Gonorrhoea is treated with antibiotics. The particular treatment varies depending on where you caught the disease (locally, inter-state or overseas) because resistance to antibiotics depends on the area. Anyone you had recent sexual intercourse with will also need to be treated.
A typical regimen is a single-dose of intramuscular ceftriaxone 250mg. In addition, patients should be given azithromycin 1g orally or doxycycline 100mg orally BD for 10 days. This is to cover possible chlamydial infection.
More serious infections may require longer or intravenous treatment. After treatment is completed, you will often be retested to ensure the infection is cured. Sexual intercourse should be avoided until after this test is clear.
General measures to protect yourself from gonorrhoeal infection include:
  • Always use condoms – These are the best contraceptive method to prevent transmission of STIs.
  • Have long-term relationships where both partners are not infected and neither person has additional partners.
  • Limit your sexual partners – The less people you have sex with, the less likelihood you will become infected.
  • Talk to your partners about STIs.
  • If you suspect you may have been infected, seek advice and treatment early.
