‘One Piece’, a Japanese manga series set in the world of pirates and marines, has officially became the best-selling comic book series in history.

320,866,000 copies of the manga, created by Eiichiro Oda, was printed worldwide from December 1997 to December 2014. The manga’s 77th volume was released on April 3 with an initial print run of 3.8 million copies.

The previous Guinness World Record for “The most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author” was held by Akira Toriyama’s legendary Dragon Ball manga series.

A ceremony was held in Tokyo on Monday (June 15) to present the award, but Oda didn't attend and was represented by Weekly Shounen Jump editor Yoshihisa Heishi.

“Manga is just entertainment that kills time, but I feel happy when my readers tell me that they have made friends or got a sweetheart by talking about One Piece,” Oda said in a statement.

He went on to thank his readers, supporters and past manga artists for their support.

“I will continue to draw a work that will not shame this record,” Oda added.

'One Piece' has been published in more than 30 countries since its debut in 1997.

7 First Aid Mistakes That Are More Dangerous Than You Think

The Mistake: Not Treating a Burn Long Enough

first aid mistakes treating a burn
Forget butter or ice—the best way to soothe burned skin is to run it under cool water. But a few seconds or minutes isn’t enough; you need to do it for at least ten to 20 minutes, says Jeffrey Pellegrino, PhD, of the American Red Cross. “The heat from a burn travels deep into your skin, where it can continue to destroy tissue even if you’ve cooled the surface,” he says. “You need the cold to soak in to prevent further damage.”

first aid mistakes nose bleed

The Mistake: Tilting Your Head Back During a Nose Bleed
This can cause the blood to drain into the back of your throat, which can make you gag or cough, potentially obstructing breathing. Instead, apply direct pressure by pinching your nose, but keep your head in a neutral position with your chin parallel to the ground. Sit and stay relaxed.

first aid mistakes cold on sprain

The Mistake: Putting Heat on a Sprain or Fracture

“Always apply cold initially,” says William Gluckman, DO, spokesman for the Urgent Care Association of America. Ice helps decrease swelling, whereas heat boosts blood flow, which can make swelling worse. Save heat for issues like back spasms.

first aid mistakes eye wound

The Mistake: Try to Remove Debris From an Injured Eye

Fishing around for the irritant can worsen the wound and even lead to permanent damage. Instead, protect the eye—secure a paper cup over it with tape so nothing else can get in—and seek immediate care. The only exception is if you get a chemical in your eye; in that case, flush it out with water for about 15 minutes

first aid mistakes wound gauze

The Mistake: Removing Gauze From a Bleeding Wound
If the pad soaks through, don’t pick it up
and replace it—just add a fresh piece of gauze on top, says Chris Cebollero, chief of EMS for Christian Hospital in St. Louis. Clotting factors in the blood surface to help stop the bleeding; picking up the old gauze can remove them and make the wound start bleeding all over again. If that happens, apply pressure to the cut until the bleeding stops, then rinse the wound out (to prevent infection), apply an antibiotic ointment (if not allergic), and rewrap with a bandage.

first aid mistakes car accident

The Mistake: Not Seeking Care After a Car Accident

If you have severe car damage, get checked out at the hospital, even if you feel fine. “Your adrenaline-fueled, fight-or-flight response can mask pain initially,” says Cebollero. “It can be ten minutes or two hours after the accident before you feel something.” Responders at the scene can’t necessarily rule out brain bleeds or broken bones.

The Mistake: Making It Hard for the EMT to Find You
first aid mistakes EMT rescue

Say you’re stung by a bee in your backyard and are having a serious allergic reaction. First have someone call 911. Then head to the driveway. Choking in a restaurant? Don’t run to the bathroom. “People die in bathrooms from choking because they don’t want to disturb other diners. They collapse, and nobody knows why,” says Pellegrino. Stay where people can help you.

My Note: If symptom persist consult your doctor or seek medical help

How to Use Your Google Maps — Offline

Photo: Ariel Zambelich/Wired
Photo: Ariel Zambelich/Wired
TO ACCESS ONE of Google Maps’ best hidden features, you have to know the magic word. Well, it’s a phrase, really, and that phrase is: “OK Maps.” Enter this phrase into the Google Maps app and the portion of the map that’s currently visible on your screen will be saved directly to your device. Once saved, you can access that map even without a data connection.
It’s way better than just taking a screenshot, because your saved map lets you zoom in for greater detail. Also, it works on both iOS and Android devices.*
Here’s how to do it. Zoom in on a part of a map that you want to save for offline browsing. Then, tap the search bar and type “OK Maps” (minus the quotes) and hit the Search button. You can also speak this into the phone — just speak “O” and “K” with a slight pause between them, otherwise your phone may spell it as “Okay” and this trick won’t work.
If all goes well, you should see a prompt indicating that the map is downloading. It will take about 10 seconds, depending on the size of the map you’ve selected and the speed of your internet connection. Wait for the message that says “The on-screen map area has been cached,” and you’re good to go.
The next time you open Google Maps and there’s no signal available, you’ll be able to view and browse your saved map. It’s especially helpful on Wi-Fi-only iPads or Android tablets, and for when your device is in airplane mode. For example, you can virtually explore the area around your hotel while you’re flying to the city you’ll be visiting. And speaking of foreign travel, this is also very helpful for exploring cities where data roaming is excessively expensive and public Wi-Fi spots are rare.
You’ll still need some kind of data signal to get directions, and for real-time navigation. You will also need GPS access in order to pinpoint your exact location on your saved map. But your phone’s compass works all the time, so even if GPS isn’t available, you can still get your direction sorted.
When I first tried this, I got overexcited and tried to download the entire state of California, which resulted in a most un-Google-like grammatically confusing error message: “The on-screen map are too large, zoom in first.” Turns out, it will only cache street data up to about 10 miles away. Large enough for most cities, but not for a whole county. I was, however, able to save a large swath of San Francisco, as well as the entire South Bay region. Not too shabby.
* Yes, Nokia’s Here Maps and the iPhone-native Apple Maps also offer this, but the “OK Maps” trick in Google is cool, and largely unknown, and we wanted to tell you about it.

Note: This is one the travel tips that can be useful.

To use Google Maps offline, type “OK Maps,” and the visible area will save for future access.

Conclusion of Ferdinand Magellan's Expedition:One ship from the fleet eventually reached Spain in September 1522, having completed the first ever circumnavigation of the globe ...Magellan himself was killed in battle on the voyage, but his ambitious expedition proved that the globe could be circled by sea and that the world was much larger than had previously been imagined. For your Information:Did you know that Clove was the most valuablespice in Europe during Magellan's day. It was used to flavor food, but Europeans also believed that its essence could improve vision, its powder could relieve fevers, and mixed with milk it could enhance intercourse  Lastly,Though Magellan is often credited with the first circumnavigation on the globe, he did so on a technicality: He first made a trip from Europe to the Spice Islands, eastward via the Indian Ocean, and then later made his famous westward voyage that brought him to the Philippines. So he did cover the entire terrain, but it was not a strict point A to point A,round-the-world trip, and it was made in two different directions. His slave, Enrique, however, was born in either Cebu or Mallaca and came to Europe with Magellan by ship.Ten years later, he then returned to both Cebu(with Magellan) and Mallaca (after Magellan died) by ship on the armada’s westward route. So Enrique was the first person to circumnavigate the world in one direction, from point A to point A..

The Batman Workout

Batman workout
credit:darebee.com
Reminder from me: Consult your doctor before starting any heavy physical activity such as excercising and running and guidance on your diet.
Nine sets of exercises designed to build you to rule the streets of Gotham City at night. Exorcise your inner demons with this set of exercises.

Instructions: Repeat each move one after the other with no rest in between until the set is done, rest up to 2 minutes and repeat the whole set again as many times as you can depending on your fitness level – maximum of 10 sets.
What it works: quads, triceps, biceps, chest, shoulders, lower abs, lateral abs, glutes, upper abs, aerobic system, cardiovascular system. This one has it all.
Tip: Perform for speed and fluidity of motion. Execute the full range of motion of each exercise but resist the temptation to start-and-stop each time. Instead use each exercise to create a bounce effect in execution that enables you to just keep on going.
Make it better: It's hard to think there is a way to make the Batman workout better but here's something you can implement: when performing leg raises do not bring your legs up all the way so they are at 90 degrees to your body, keep them between 45 and 60 degrees and also keep your chin on your chest. This way your abdominal muscles never relax and your upper abdominals also come into full play. You will see better results, faster.
Make it harder: Batman is all for doing things the hard way. Instead of just doing squats do jumping squats where your feet clear the floor every time. This way you get a full-blast ballistic workout for your quads (perfect power for developing the kind of leg power that helps you jump across Gotham rooftops, late an night).
Body Types this can work for: Batman looks like a Mesomorph (puts muscle on easily) but let's not forget that he did not always look that way. He worked hard to transform himself so who knows what he looked like before really? This makes this workout suitable for anybody who just wants to be Batman (that's probably everybody).
Perfect for: We're going to avoid the Caped Crusader, night-fighting, crime-busting machine clichés here and simply say that this is the perfect workout for anyone looking to develop a little bit of power and some muscle density.
