Kabuki Brush for Makeup Use

  • Kabuki Brush

      • The kabuki brush has a short handle and lots of soft, firmly packed bristles. They are typically used to apply mineral makeup or facial powder. Kabuki brushes are designed to buff powders and minerals into the skin, but can remove too much if used as a powder brush.  source:http://www.ehow.com/list_6882957_names-brushes-use-makeup.html

    • Kabuki brushes are high-quality rounded make-up brushes used by celebrities, professional make-up artists and anyone wanting a perfect application of make-up. They can be used for applying various forms of facial make-up including powder, blush and bronzer, as well as for adding shimmer or glow effects to the body.

    Common Size

      • Most kabuki brushes are short and squat, while some are a bit longer and can be retracted into a container. Kabuki brushes also are available in purse-size containers.

    Additional Sizes

      • In addition, people can purchase kabuki brushes in small half-moon shapes (for finishing touches) and in larger peacock fan sizes.

    Bristles

      • Bristles usually are goat hair or another type of animal hair, and some are goat hair with taklon, a synthetic fiber. The head of the brush is short, full and rounded.

    Mineral Make-Up

      • The popular mineral make-up often comes with a kabuki brush, as this type of brush is especially good for applying loose foundation and blush.
